Rev Precious Mupereki, the National Superintendent of the AFM in Zimbabwe Children’s Department, today led prayers for children and teachers returning to school for the new term, calling for divine protection, wisdom and grace throughout the academic season.

Speaking during the prayer session posted on the department’s national WhatsApp group, Rev Mupereki committed learners, teachers and school communities into God’s hands, praying for protection for both boarding and day scholars.

“I pray for the children and teachers who are going back to school. I pray for grace for the whole term. Let all be protected,” she said.

She also prayed for the safety of learners travelling long distances to boarding schools and those commuting daily, asking God to shield them from accidents and harm.

Rev Mupereki strongly prayed against child kidnappings, declaring victory over what she termed the “spirit of children kidnapping.”

“I cast fire on that demon. May the grace of God protect all the children,” she declared.

The children’s leader further prayed for learners to excel in their studies and for teachers to be protected while carrying out their duties.

“Help them understand their studies. No accidents. Let God be there for them always when they play and study,” she added.

Meanwhile, Mai Pastor Kandikita of Springs of Grace Assembly also dedicated time to pray for children, focusing on protection against drug abuse, illicit activities and spiritual attacks.

Mai Kandikita prayed against drugs, the spirit of “manjuzu” and other harmful influences affecting children and youths as schools reopen for the new term.
