Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe-run Living Waters High School DZ Campus continues to strengthen its learning environment through infrastructure expansion and technology upgrades aimed at improving the quality of education for its growing learner population.

Established in 2013, the school currently has an enrolment of 473 learners and is headed by G. Warara.

Infrastructure and Development

In recent years, the school has undertaken several development projects to enhance both the learning environment and operational efficiency.

Among the key improvements is the drilling of a borehole, which has improved the availability of water at the institution. The school has also established a computer laboratory, enabling learners to access digital learning and strengthening the teaching of computer-related subjects.

To accommodate the increasing number of learners, the school has constructed new classroom blocks while upgrading existing facilities. Classrooms have been repainted and tiled, creating a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The school has also invested in modern teaching resources, including the procurement of laptops, a projector and a printer, while ensuring that whiteboards are installed in all classrooms.

Security and infrastructure have also been improved through the construction of a guardroom and a Durawall around the school premises. The institution has further developed an assembly point for learners and staff during gatherings and emergencies.

Efforts to improve the school’s appearance have also been evident through landscaping projects, which include the planting of lawns and flowers both inside and outside the school grounds.

In addition, the school has invested in sports development, purchasing school sports uniforms to support learner participation in sporting activities.

Furniture has also been expanded with the procurement of over 200 desks and 200 chairs, improving classroom capacity and comfort for learners.

The school also strengthened its administrative operations through the purchase of a vehicle for the school head, facilitating official duties and school-related engagements.

Challenges

Despite the significant progress recorded, the school continues to face financial constraints, which affect the pace at which some development projects can be completed.

Future Plans

The school has outlined a number of ambitious projects aimed at further improving facilities and learning resources.

Among the planned developments are the construction of three additional classrooms, the building of a fully equipped science laboratory, and the construction of new toilet facilities.

The school also plans to complete the remaining section of the Durawall and install an electric fence to strengthen security.

Transport is another priority area, with plans underway to purchase a school bus and additional vehicles to support school operations.

In addition, the institution intends to introduce interactive boards to modernise teaching and learning, while also refurbishing the school’s reception area to improve its administrative environment.

School leadership expressed confidence that these developments will further strengthen the institution’s capacity to deliver quality education while supporting the holistic development of learners in line with the values of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe.
